I am a multidisciplinary artist, teacher, researcher, and maker based in Cincinnati, Ohio. My background is in Industrial Design and Art Education, with a special focus on prototyping and manufacturing.

My practice is based on a research process that depends on finding the right questions to ask rather than pursuing specific answers. Through a combination of textual research, material experimentation, and interpersonal play, I probe the bounds of technologies, processes, and concepts to produce my work.

I take inspiration from sociology, anthropology, science fiction, and philosophy to build out the conceptual area in which I play.

DEBT TRIPTYCH
APPLIQUE AND TRADITIONAL PIECING
48INCH BY 50INCH

This quilted triptych responds to Debt: The First 5000 Years by David Graeber, engaging his argument that debt is not merely an economic tool but a moral and political structure that shapes how we imagine reality itself.

The left and right panels depict receipts and coins. In the center, a demiurge —the mythic architect of a constructed world— embodies the structuring intelligence that renders systems of debt and value natural, inevitable, and self-justifying. Its radiance suggests authority, yet its ambiguity resists simple moral judgment. Rather than depicting debt as purely malevolent, the work considers it as a human-made order that has been mistaken for cosmic law.

This work asks whether debt is a trap imposed upon us or a structure we have built and forgotten how to reimagine.

NEW YORK BEAUTY
FOUNDATION PIECED WALL HANGING
48INCH BY 48INCH

This pattern originated in the mid-19th century and is believed to have been inspired by the architectural elements found in New York City's skyline. Its popularity grew in the early 20th century as quilt makers began to experiment with more elaborate designs and techniques.

The New York Beauty pattern is challenging to construct, as it requires precise piecing and sewing of many small and irregularly shaped pieces. This was my first experience using the paper piecing method, which involves sewing the fabric pieces onto a stabilizing base material.

WARM AND COOL STAR LATTICE QUILTS

GREEN RIBBON QUILT
LAP QUILT
76INCH BY 52INCH

This piece took more than 18 months to complete. The 1 inch star and lattice blocks were finished quickly, but they stayed pinned up on my studio wall for so long because I was waiting to find the perfect green fabric to serve as the border background. Once I finally sourced the right shade, I completed the twisted ribbon border and finalized this piece.

20 YEAR QUILT
LAP QUILT
74INCH BY 46INCH

The blocks in this quilt were pieced in the year 2001 by my grandmother and her quilting circle. The blocks were set aside and never made into a finished piece until they were passed down to me. I connected the blocks with plaid sashing and quilted the top onto a flannel backing with no batting. From fabric to finish, this piece took 2 decades and over 15 artisans to complete.

Double ring quilts gained popularity during the Depression era, when quilters looked for ways to create beautiful and functional items using scraps of fabric and clothing.

EVE QUILT
WALL HANGING
50INCH BY 50INCH

This piece started out as an attempt at a tree of life quilt, and was then improvised towards the final product you see here. The design is inspired by traditional tapestries, which often tell stories through a panel layout.

Quilting has historically been a way to communicate cultural or religious stories, and tapestries like this one communicated those ideas in large public spaces through iconography of varying fidelity.

BRIGHT LONE STAR QUILT
WALL HANGING
36INCH BY 36INCH

The design of this piece was a collaboration between myself and the commissioner, a local musician who wanted something to hang behind him while playing shows. The traditional pattern of the lone star and the bright color palette are inspired by Native American quilts, which have a rich history of cultural importance in the quilting community.

JAZZ QUILT
WALL HANGING
24INCH BY 18INCH

This piece was made with scraps of many different sizes. The title references the improvisational method of assembly- a block was made to suit each size of scrap fabric, and the blocks were pieced together with strips of randomly sized material. This wall hanging’s form was decided by the availability of material rather than any set plan from the beginning.
